I’ve lived in Delhi for over twenty years. As expected, I know most of the interesting nooks and corners that the city has to offer. However, I only recently heard about this beautiful spot hidden in the midst of the city madness.
A few days ago, I found myself on the steps of a beautiful step-well in the heart of Delhi. Agrasen Ki Baoli, or Agrasen’s Stepwell, is unlike the many tombs and forts Delhi has to offer. While it’s history is shrouded in mystery, the place is now claimed by pigeons and is often referred to as one of Delhi’s haunted monuments.
So, the next time you are in Delhi and have an hour to spare, try making a trip to this awe-inspiring step-well and let your feet take you to the numerous alcoves and rooms this beautiful place has to offer.
