They say that miracles are sprinkled all over, waiting to be found. On most days, I lose track of said miracles – lost in my world of small worries that seem as big as towering mountains, or planning every piece of my future, or simply reliving the past. Then one day, my soul is at peace and I look around and find these miracles without even looking for them. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could simply recognize them as they hide in broad daylight? I don’t know about you, but I am a bit too lost in my thoughts to truly give them the attention they deserve. In return, they also hold their magic from me.
I am about to begin a new journey, which I know little about. A step into the unknown which will come with its own challenges, and because my default mode is to solve everything I forget the miracles this new journey could hold. I don’t anticipate them and so they’re likely just going to pass me by like many other miracles must have thus far. But here’s one I’ve spotted – If I didn’t take on this challenge or if I didn’t take this turn, then how would I know what it holds for me? Maybe this new direction is meant to bring me peace, self-discovery, and a tiny bit of enlightenment. It’s symbolic – just like the cutting of the rope that I’ve held onto all my life. Maybe it will be scary or maybe I will learn to live life just a little better.
So, here’s to the miracles hiding everywhere because nothing can add magic to our lives like they do. They’re like the white flowers suddenly brightening up the place I have been to countless times. Planted to surprise and delight, but only if you open your heart to their beauty and scent. If I could remind my future self one thing, it would be to take a few moments each day to spot the miracles because they don’t ever come back once we’ve lost them…
