Sound of life

We stood atop a hillock in the midst of ancient whispers not so long ago. This British era cemetery had a sense of all encompassing calm, and yet one could hear the sound of a child squealing as his sibling ran after him in a courtyard nearby. The sound of life and the silence of those who have left it behind merging together…

In December, I went back to North East India like I do each year. I also visited one of my favorite places, Cherrapunji, again (albeit for a very short day trip). But this trip taught me something new – that there are things to see and learn even when we revisit the same places over and over again.
